CAS IEF Oximetry Project

Thank you for saving lives

Thank you for your generosity. We've exceeded our goal of 250 oximeters for Rwanda!

Imagine administering anesthesia to your patient without the use of a pulse oximeter. In more than 77,000 operating rooms across the developing world, your colleagues have no alternative; it's just too expensive. Access is the most significant barrier to widespread oximetry use.

Your donations in support of this project from LifeBox will put this essential safety device into the hands of colleagues who need it most. Each pulse oximeter (at a cost of $250) comes with training materials and a WHO Surgical Safety Checklist, shown  to significantly reduce operating room complications and mortality rates.

CAS IEF has been working to develop the anesthesia specialty in Rwanda for many years, and now the Foundation has exceeded its goal for funds to support a pulse oximetry educational project in Rwanda.

Please donate generously to CAS IEF and qualify for a Canadian charitable tax receipt. Your donations directed to the Global Oximetry Project will be used to purchase a kit with an educational CD-Rom from Lifebox for Rwanda.
