On June 25, 2011, the Canadian Anesthesiologists' Society held a Patient Safety Symposium in conjunction with its Annual General Meeting in Toronto, Ontario.

Symposium topic: Out-of-hospital Anesthesia: Gold Mine or Land Mine?


Objectives:

  • Identify outcomes after office-based anesthesia
  • Provide examples of office-based anesthesia emergencies
  • Discuss preoperative evaluation of patients undergoing OBA
  • Give examples of the regulatory framework for OBA in Canada
