Since 1996, the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society International Education Foundation (CAS IEF) has been active in making anesthesia available to people living in developing countries.
CAS IEF’s philosophy is to help anesthesia providers in developing countries to create their own self-sustaining programs appropriate to their specific country’s needs. Local government ministries of health work in consultation with anesthesia providers and designated training centres to develop programs that enable trained health care workers to provide much-needed anesthesia services. |
