For this year’s Virtual Annual Meeting, CAS is piloting a Test-Enhanced Learning (TEL) session, which can increase knowledge retention and application to practice through the use of pre- and post-tests as a form of retrieval practice.
The session we have chosen is Hot topics in regional anesthesia
, taking place on Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 10:00 am (EDT)
What to expect?
The live session is accredited for Section 1 SAP credits. If you would like to gain Section 3 SAP credits you will need to complete a pre- and post-test (available on the CAS online learning platform).
To register for the TEL session, please go to the VAM website. You must log into the website and click the enroll button. After the enrollment is confirmed, click the “My courses” button at the top of the page to access the tests.
The pre-test will be open until June 11 and must be completed by the closing date to gain access to the post-test. The post-test will open on June 14 and close on
June 21. A certificate of attendance will be provided after both tests have been completed. You can gain 1 hour of Section 3 credit.
During the session, the speakers will discuss the risks and benefits of recent motor sparing approaches for lower extremity analgesia, including the guidelines, recommendations and recent evidence regarding peri-operative anticoagulation and regional anesthesia.
After attending this session participants will be able to:
- articulate the indications for ACB and PENG Block.
- state the anatomic basis for the analgesic efficacy and motor sparing effects of the ACB and PENG blocks.
- explain the recommendations and guidelines from different societies and organizations that are available for questions regarding peri-operative anticoagulation and regional anesthesia.
