Join us for the first webinar of our 2024 Residents Webinar Series. This series will explore various topics tailored to anesthesiology residents, thoughtfully chosen by your CAS Residents Section. The goal of these webinars is to offer valuable insights to support you on your journey through anesthesiology residency.
The Canadian Journal of Anesthesia/Journal canadien d’anesthésie (CJA/JCA), the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society’s official scientific journal (published in collaboration with the Canadian Critical Care Society), is at the 93rd Scopus CiteScore percentile in its category and among the top 10 in anesthesiology for the Clarivate Journal Impact Factor. It was first published locally in 1954 as a single issue and now has grown to a leading international monthly journal; 90% of the Journal’s current readership is from outside of Canada.
Dr Stephan Schwarz, the CJA’s current Editor-in-Chief, will give an “inside” glimpse into our national specialty journal. What are some of the key Journal metrics and how does it compare to its peers? What support and processes are needed to produce an issue? How do you write a strong submission? From his publishing experience, he’ll give some expert advice on how to draft an initial research report submission and how to set yourself up for success. He’ll provide tips and tricks on how to increase the odds of a successful submission and outline common mistakes to avoid. There will also be time to ask all your publishing questions!
Note: Although this webinar is geared towards the Residents Section participants, any CAS member may attend.
