Dear Colleagues,

This awards cycle marks my last year as chair of the Research Advisory Committee.  I am grateful to have been involved with the Canadian research community for the last 12 years.  Next year, please welcome Dr. Imelda Galvin from Queen’s University in leading the grant competition and adjudication.

Your support of CARF fundraising continues to support the two-year term Career Scientist Award and the New Investigator Operating Grant. We also have the Dr. RA Gordon Research Award and the Resident's Research Award (supported by the Ontario Anesthesiologists).

Section grants this year amount to a total of $150 000 from the following subspecialities:  Ambulatory, CVT, Education & Simulation, Environmental Sustainability, Neuroanesthesia, Obstetric, Perioperative and Regional. Section members are encouraged to take advantage of their membership to apply for these grants.

The Research Advisory Committee looks forward to reading your proposals for the 2027 awards cycle.  Application submissions are open November 1, 2026, and will close on January 10, 2027.
