COVID-19 Waiver

The health and safety of attendees is our top priority at the 2022 CAS Annual Meeting and we continue to monitor the post pandemic environment for a safe event.
 
Please review the refund/cancellation policy on the REGISTER tab. The cancellation deadline for the CAS AM is June 1, 2022. We are closely monitoring city, provincial and federal public health safety measures. With a constantly shifting environment, our health and safety protocols are subject to change and we reserve the right to institute additional safety measures. Please check back for current information.
 
ASSUMPTION OF THE RISK
By attending the 2022 CAS Annual Meeting I acknowledge and understand the following:

1. Participation includes possible exposure to and illness from infectious diseases including but not limited to COVID-19. While particular rules and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious illness and death does exist;
2. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks related to illness and infectious diseases, such as COVID-19, even if arising from the negligence or fault of the Released Parties; and
3. I hereby knowingly assume the risk of injury, harm and loss associated with my participation, including any injury, harm and loss caused by the negligence, fault or conduct of any kind on the part of the CAS or their suppliers.
4. I agree to self-monitor for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 daily (symptoms typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath) and will not attend in-person if I have been exposed or feel ill.
5. By attending this event, I release, waive and discharge any liability, claims, and demands against CAS and its affiliated partners/suppliers, either in law or in equity. This includes damages or losses caused by the negligence, fault or conduct of any kind on the part of the released parties, including death, bodily injury, illness, economic loss or out of pocket expenses, or loss or damage to property, which may arise from my participation in the activity.

 

	Screening Please self-screen for symptoms, each day before attending the meeting. For guidance on self-screening, see the Toronto Public Health poster. If you have tested positive for COVID-19 within the five days before the meeting or have any symptoms of COVID-19 or other illness, please do not attend the event.
	Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Face masks will be mandatory for this event. They are known to be a tool that contributes to reduced spread of COVID-19. We recommend that all attendees wear a face mask that covers your mouth, nose and chin, at all times while attending the meeting except when eating or drinking (or presenting). Face masks may be required for hotels, restaurants, transportation and special events venues outside of the convention center. Please ensure you are aware of the requirements of any external facilities.
	Enhanced Cleaning The Halifax Convention Center (HCC) has advised that it uses cleaning products that meet or exceed local, provincial and federal guidelines regarding effectiveness against viruses, bacteria and other airborne and bloodborne pathogens.
	Hand Hygiene Hand hygiene is the foundation of any safety plan. Hand sanitizing stations are available throughout the HCC. We encourage all event attendees, exhibitors, speakers, suppliers and staff to either wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer frequently throughout the day.
