CARF at Alexander Keith's Brewery
 
This annual CARF fundraiser takes place at Alexander Keith's Brewery - one of the oldest breweries in North America, and at the heart of Halifax. Guests will enjoy an evening of great local music, beverages and delicious food, and socializing. All proceeds of this event will support the 'CHANGE 4 CARF' campaign.

Party the night away with your friends and colleagues.  Join us on Saturday, June25th for a classic down-home East Coast party experience at the fabulous Waterfront Warehouse – on the Halifax boardwalk overlooking the harbour!  Grazing stations with heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar is included in your ticket price. Live entertainment is provided by the legendary band Big Fish! 



Known as the Halifax band not to miss, you will quickly catch their amazing east coast spirit!

Begin day two of the annual meeting sharing experiences and stories with your peers at the Women’s Breakfast.
Hosted by Dr. Dolores McKeen, CAS President, the goal of this social event is to come together to network and create a community of support for women in the profession.

About Amy Pearson
Amy Pearson, MD, FASA is a board certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain physician. She completed her Anesthesiology Residency and Pain Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr Pearson was an Assistant Professor at the University of Iowa for nearly 5 years, during which she published over 30 articles on topics such as interventional cancer pain management, peripheral nerve and spinal cord stimulation, interventional pelvic pain management, integrative medicine, and socioeconomic influences on access to care. She has published several articles on women in medicine. She has presented her research nationally and internationally. Dr Pearson is the past president of Women in Anesthesiology and is the American Society of Regional Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine (ASRA) 2022 Annual Meeting Chair. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, knitting and indoor cycling.

CASIEF Dinner at Pier 21
This year's annual CASIEF fundraising dinner will be hosted at a historical venue to think about the future of anesthesia! Join us in-person at Pier 21 for a delectable buffet dinner and cocktails overlooking the Halifax harbour and George's Island. Pier 21 was one of Canada's major ports of entry for immigration during the steamship era, operating from 1928 to 1971, and now home to Canadian Museum of Immigration.
Our virtual speaker for this event will be Dr. Jochen Hinkelbein to discuss "Anesthesia and Resuscitation in Space". Dr. Hinkelbein is Professor of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine, and Emergency Medicine at the Cologne University Hospital. He is the President of the German Society of Aerospace Medicine (DGLRM), Chairman Space Medicine Group of the European Society of Aerospace Medicine (ESAM), and Chairman of the German Society of Aviation and Space Medicine working group for "Guidelines, Standards and Recommendations“. The formal program will be followed by a live circus performer demonstration on the waterfront. Virtual attendees will be able to join us for Dr. Hinkelbein's talk.
