Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to share that we have an additional $95k in funding this year; for a total of $305000. We introduce a new Environmental Sustainability Award as an open operating grant. The BCAS Dr. Pieter Swart Perioperative Research Award has also become an open operating grant.

Your support of CARF fundraising has allowed for the 2-year term Career Scientist Award to be offered again this year along with the CAS research Award and the Dr. RA Gordon Research Award. We also have returned support from Octapharma to study perioperative blood management and the Resident's Research Award supported by the Ontario Anesthesiologists.

The neuroanesthesia section is offering a $ 10000 section award this year. In addition, five CAS subspecialty sections continue to support operating grants: Ambulatory, Cardiovascular & Thoracic, Education & Simulation, Obstetrics and Regional with matched funding from CARF. Much thanks to our many sponsors for their support of innovation and the pursuit of knowledge. Researchers the ball is now in your court! Come forth with your ideas and formulated plans. The Research Advisory Committee looks forward to reading your proposals for the 2026 awards cycle.
