Dr. Lily Chiu grew up in Richmond, BC, and completed the majority of her education in the province. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and her Doctor of Medicine from the University of British Columbia, where she also completed her residency in anesthesiology.

Dr. Chiu pursued additional subspecialty training in regional anesthesia through a fellowship at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, United Kingdom. She recently completed a Master of Science in Health Economics, Policy and Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science, reflecting her strong interest in the intersection of clinical care, health systems, and policy. She currently practices anesthesia at St. Paul's Hospital and Mount Saint Joseph Hospital in Vancouver as part of the regional anesthesia subspecialty group.

Dr. Chiu has been a member of the BC Anesthesiologists' Society Board of Directors since completing her training. She is passionate about advancing education, advocacy, and health policy, and looks forward to collaborating with colleagues across Canada through her role with the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society.
