Dr Yannick Duguay

Dr Duguay began his career with a PhD in research, followed by three years as a clinical research scientist. This experience led him to pursue a medical degree at Laval University in Quebec City, where he completed both medical school and residency training.

Since graduation, Dr Duguay has been practicing at Bathurst Regional Hospital, where he has built a strong reputation as a skilled and dedicated physician. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as Department Chief, playing a key role in managing the hospital’s response. He later transitioned to the provincial section of anesthesia, continuing to make meaningful contributions to the field.

A significant achievement in Dr Duguay's career was his involvement in negotiating a salary adjustment for anesthesiologists in New Brunswick, ensuring their compensation matched national standards. This effort resulted in an important salary catch-up for the province’s anesthesiologists.

Dr Duguay is now expanding his involvement at the national level, bringing his expertise and passion to advancing anesthesiology in Canada and supporting the ongoing progress of the specialty.
