POSITION STATEMENT: Freedom of Choice in Abortion Health Care

CAS strongly supports equitable patient access to healthcare and opposes any restrictions to freedom of choice in healthcare decisions, including access to a safe abortion. CAS advocates that safe abortion care is essential to protect the health and lives of people around the world.

POSITION STATEMENT: Lack of evidence that epidural pain relief during labour causes autism spectrum disorder

The Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society (CAS), along with the CAS Obstetric Section, the Canadian Pediatric Anesthesia Society (CPAS), the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC), and the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) raise concerns with the findings of the study “Association Between Epidural Analgesia During Labor and Risk of Autism Spectrum Disorders in Offspring.”
