Dr Andrew Nice

Dr Andrew Nice moved to southern New Brunswick in the mid-aughts, settling in the Saint John area, after having spent his entire post-secondary years at McGill University (including a stint managing a DNA sequencing core facility at the university).  He has embraced several roles within the Anesthesia group at the Saint John Regional Hospital including serving as Education Co-ordinator for students and residents on rotation from Dalhousie University, Memorial University of Newfoundland, and the maturing, local, Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick (DMNB) program.  He holds academic appointments at Dalhousie and MUN.  Dr. Nice has been involved with the CAS at the Board and Executive Committee level for almost nine years, non-consecutively.

Aside from anesthetizing people (the side-gig at the vet hasn’t worked out), Andrew enjoys traveling (when allowed), golf, skiing, hiking and full-bodied Shiraz (probably a little too much).  He remains hopeful that he’ll summit more “Four Thousand Footers” along the extended Appalachian range, before his days are numbered!  He now tends more towards ‘glamping’ these days than camping though.

Andrew has been married to his wife, Karin, a former pension actuary and HR communication consultant turned stay-at-home parent and volunteer extraordinaire, for over 20 years. They are thankful to be surrounded by woods, walking trails and wildlife at their home in Rothesay, where they live with their two daughters and Portuguese Water Dogs, Nova and Stella, only steps away from the Kennebecasis River.
